1.T:We learned about some heroes last period. As we know Dr Norman Bethune was one of the most famous heroes in China. Who knows about Dr Norman Bethune?Do you know more? Let\'s look at the picture and talk about him.2.Work in pairs. Look at the picture in Activity
2 and discuss who the person is and what he did. Use the words in the box to help you. (Activity 1)
(1)教师课前布置学生预习,搜集相关资料,学生两人一组开展活动,列举出白求恩医生的相关信息。例如:
Norman Bethune came from Canada.
He was a doctor.
He helped and treated many wounded soldiers.
(2)话题引入,结合Activity 1方框中的词汇讨论英雄白求恩,让学生两人一组讨论和归纳自己对白求恩的了解,将信息汇总。
(3)教师抽点小组向全班展示讨论结果。
①让组内一名学生记录讨论结果,整理成报告的形式;②让小组以对话的形式展示。教师快速提问,学生快速回答。如:What\'s Bethune\'s job? /Where does he come from? 教师提问主要针对方框中的词,即学生回答问题时会用到的生词等。
环节说明:本活动要求学生根据自己的了解,列出白求恩医生的相关信息,激活已有的知识。活动还要求学生结合方框内给出的词汇进行讨论,从而为学生熟悉词汇、理解篇章、讨论话题作好铺垫。
