Step 1. Presentation
Present the new words by showing some pictures.
jacket n. 夹克衫，短上衣

Step 2. Learn syllables.
1. 英语单词可以划分成音节。一个单词可能分成一个、两个、三个或更多音节。例如：
clean late feel tea （单音节）
lazy fashion about （双音节）
expensive popular （三个音节）
2. Listen to A and repeat the words.
Words with one syllable: fun swim
Words with two syllables: en·joy clever
Words with three syllables: inter·est·ed favourite
3. Listen to B and write down the number of syllables in the blanks.

★提示: 音节划分的规律是以元音字母或元音字母组合为核心, 以辅音字母为界线。
4. Work in pairs. Match the syllables to make six two-syllable words. Then practise saying the words.
5. Listen and complete D.

Tip: Sometimes when we add –(e)s to a word, the word will have an extra syllable.

Step 4. Reading
1. Listen and read Sandy’s article, then find the main idea of each paragraph.
