The moment three warm-hearted teenage girls spent their pocket money on food and a warm blanket(毯子) for a homeless man has got much attention after it was caught on camera.
Natasha, Danielle and Chloe were all 13 years old. They came from English Martyrs School. They were enjoying a meal at Pizza Hut(必胜客) in Hartelepool when they saw the man outside the nearby cinema.
The girls hurried to a shop and used their pocket money to buy some food, water and a warm blanket for the homeless man. Then they provided the man with the supplies and the remaining change and Danielle caught the act on camera.
They hoped that video would encourage their friends to do something similar, but since they posted the moving video on Facebook, it has gone viral(病毒的) with over 50,000 views. Natasha said, “We put it on Facebook to try to get more people to do things like that. It is amazing. We didn’t think it would get so much attention.”
The man told the girls how he had ended up on the streets. Chloe said, “He said he gave up his job to come here to be with his girlfriend, but they had broken up(分手) and he was trying toget back to his home.”
Natasha said, “He said he couldn’t thank us enough and he hoped everything would be good to us in our life.”
Natasha’s mum said, “I think they’re amazing. Not many kids would do what they have done. I’m proud of them all.”
“Their act of generosity(慷慨) shocked me. And I’m sure that has made a great difference to everyone,” one of the net users said.
