(2018·山东德州宁津一模)Do you want to be perfect? Do you get angry when life is not perfect? If so, you are a perfectionist(完美主义者). Perfectionists always try to do everything perfectly. Some perfectionists may expect other people around them to be perfect too.
It is good to always try to be excellent. For example, some players may be perfectionists. They work hard for the best possible result. They try to do perfectly in a competition. Sometimes we even depend on the high expectations(期望) of perfectionists. For example, when a doctor is carrying out an operation(手术), we would like it to be per fect.
But perfectionism(完美主义) can also have bad effects(作用). There are thre e different kinds of perfectionism.
The first kind is connected to(与……有联系) the self. This is when a person wants himself to be perfect. When he fails, he will be really sad.
Another kind of perfectionist expects other people to be perfect. Such a perfectionist will criticize(批评)the people around them if they fail to do something perfectly.
The third kind of perfectionist believes that other people expect him to be perfect. This kind of perfectionism often begins when children have very strict parents.
All the three kinds of perfectionism can have bad effects. Perfectionism can lead to problems like depression(抑郁), drinking too much, eating unhealthily, heart conditions and even killing oneself.
