并列复合句
并列复合句是指由并列连词and,but,or等把两个或两个以上简单句连在一起而构成的句子。
1.并列复合句的构成。
并列复合句的基本结构:简单句+并列连词+简单句。
2.并列连词前后的简单句之间的关系。
(1)并列关系。
常见的表示并列关系的并列连词有and。例如:
Her father is a doctor and her mother is a teacher.她的父亲是医生,她的母亲是老师。
(2)转折关系。
常见的表示转折关系的并列连词有but。例如:
It was late at night,but he went on doing his homework.夜深了,但是他还在继续做作业。
(3)选择关系。
常见的表示选择关系的并列连词有or。例如:
Now you can have a rest or you can go to the cinema.现在你可以休息,或者去看电影。
3.使用并列复合句要注意的几种情况。
(1)并列复合句有时可不用连词,而用分号隔开(前后句之间的关系须相当紧密)。
(2)并列连词后面的简单句如果与前面的简单句有相同的部分,则相同部分常可省略。
