【用法归纳】辨析stop doing sth.与stop to do sth.2011省卷4题、2011兰州4题、2011庆阳7题考查
stop doing sth.表示“停止正在做的事”；如：
His father stopped smoking.他父亲戒烟了。
stop to do sth.“表示停下手头的事去做另一件事”。如：
His father stopped to smoke.他父亲停下来吸烟。
注意：stop sb./sth. (from)doing sth. 意为“阻止某人／某物去做某事”, 介词from可以省去, 但在被动结构中, from则不可省略。如：
The heavy snow stopped the train (from) arriving in time.大雪使得火车没能及时到达。
The boy was stopped from entering the office. 这男孩被阻止进办公室。
