（1）so that固定短语，意为“以便，为的是, 结果”，其后面接从句。例如： We ran quickly so that we could catch up with him. 我们快跑为的是我们追上了他。
2）in order to固定短语，意为“为了”，其后面接动词原形。与in order that, so that 同义，只是in order that; so that后面接从句。
如：We started early in order to arrive before dark. = We started early in order that / so that we could arrive before dark.为了在天黑前到达,我们很早就动身了。
