1. Every Section D in this book, there are some phonetic symbols .So through this lesson, Ss can learn more phonetic symbols.
(二)ANALYSIS OF THE STUDENTS
The Ss has learned English for about one year so far. They can understand many words and sentences. The Ss have taken a great interest in English now.

1.Knowledge objects
(1) To make the Ss know how to read the phonetic symbolsand let them find out th rules.
To study the new words and phrases such as “at the age of”,"not... any more","with one's help","may be", "mean"etc. by learning the passage of this lesson.
